These toys do not come cheap and when customised, as all the boats on these page are, the price goes up manyfold. The two standout boats here are Indian Empress of Vijay Mallya, which is the most luxurious in India, and Tian of Anil Ambani, which has technology unmatched off Indian shores. Only, it is in the dock for alleged duty evasion. The three things that a yacht offers are: ultra luxury, complete privacy and the thrill—should you choose to go full throttle—of almost walking on water. India, unlike Dubai or Monaco, alas does not yet have a proper marina where yachts can be parked. So they bob up and down off the Gateway of India. One of these days, just stroll along the promenade and you will get to see these beauties.
