A group of NRIs marched 240 km in California to protest against 2G scam and other scandals in India.
After hearing news of the 2G spectrum scam and sundry other scandals, a group of NRIs completed their Dandi March 2 on 26 March. It covered 240 km, the same distance that Gandhi traversed during his march to the sea in Gujarat in 1930 to protest the salt tax. This one wended its way through California’s biggest metropolitan areas: San Diego, Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area.
As one NRI, Hari Atluri, explains on their website dandimarch2.org: ‘This march is not about angry people doing or frustrated people doing it, we are thoughtful committed Indians.’
