The New England Journal of Medicine is giving birth to controversy. Researchers concluded that an abortion is less damaging to a woman’s mental health than childbirth. Over 1995-2007, researchers tracked over 300,000 women in Denmark who aborted foetuses in their first trimester and those who gave birth. The incidence of mothers who needed counselling was dramatically higher than those who’d gone through the trauma of abortion.
