The firecracker capital of India has passed a resolution to add an ‘a’ to the town’s name, making it ‘Sivakaasi’.
The municipal council of Sivakasi, the Tamil Nadu town known for its firecracker industry, has passed a resolution to add an ‘a’ to the town’s name, making it ‘Sivakaasi’.
Municipal council chairperson Rathika Devi says, “According to numerology, the change in spelling will bring prosperity. Over the past three months, we have suffered a lot due to accidents. The public believes this move will benefit them.”
The resolution which was passed unanimously by the 33-member council has now been sent to the state government for approval.
