The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh was in for a surprise when he embarked on his Gram Suraj Abhyan in the state. The yatra was part of Raman Singh’s efforts to understand the needs of people and keep tabs on the daily working of state officials. However, amidst discussions about bonus sharing schemes for paddy farmers, the CM got letters from villagers demanding permission for smoking marijuana, consuming local liquor and finding suitable brides. According to a report in The Asian Age, Murali Dhar Diwakar from Sanguda village in the state, said that after smoking up and drinking, he liked to break into a jig. He further added that after smoking pot, one could get rid of all the worldly pains
