Three Indian restaurants have been nominated for the prestigious UK-based Restaurant and Bar Design Awards. Trikaya from Pune, Smoke House Deli and I-talia from New Delhi have made the cut. “Everything in our restaurant is handmade and hand-painted,” says Vasul Chauhan of Impresario Entertainment and Hospitality, which owns Smoke House Deli. I-talia, designed by Project Orange, tries to create a narrative about India and Italy’s historical connections with brass, gold and yellow.
