Football and reality shows are two different things. However, Brazil star Ronaldo found similarity between the two mass obsessions when he dropped in on the sets of Big Brother Brasil recently. Big Brother is a phenomenon in Brazil, where the final episode attracted a world record 155 million votes. Ronaldo, whose eight goals were instrumental in Brazil’s 2002 World Cup win, is past his best but still a prominent name in the Brazilian league. He was invited as a celebrity guest on the show.
As a famous Brazilian player, Ronaldo spent hours confined in hotel rooms to avoid the media. He told the house occupants that he could thus relate to their claustrophobia and understand the mutual irritation that staying in close confines creates. Ronaldo said he found it taxing to share a room even with good friend Roberto Carlos. The reason: he hated the rustic country music that Carlos enjoyed.
