The forgotten singer, songwriter, composer and actor, made a reappearance after five years.
Last week, Lucky Ali, forgotten singer, songwriter, composer and actor, made a reappearance after five years with the launch of his new album, Raasta-Man, in Mumbai. Amid incessant camera clicking, a visibly excited Ali started taking questions, but it was not as he expected. He was asked about his absence from the industry. And then asked the same question again. And again. Soon he was replying with “I have answered this before”. Another question went, “Where is the sex appeal in your songs?” Ali, looking baffled, mumbled something about his songs being “funny, satirical and about a more generalised love and not the archetypal boy-girl love”. The only interesting part was when he took a dig at Kailash Kher, saying he didn’t like him till he saw him on a reality show. All in all, he tried to be courteous, but the smile faded towards the end.
