Huntington in West Virginia, USA, is a place where some schoolchildren can’t tell the difference between tomatoes and potatoes.
Huntington in West Virginia, USA, is a place where some schoolchildren can’t tell the difference between tomatoes and potatoes. Little wonder it’s the unhealthiest city in America, and the starting point for Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, a TV series that addresses the obesity, heart disease and diabetes epidemics. To be aired from 26 March on ABC Television, this series anchored by UK’s best-known chef is based on Oliver’s earlier eat-right programmes Jamie’s Ministry of Food and Jamie’s School Dinners. The timing is propitious; this is the first generation of American children who are not expected to live as long as their parents. The problem is so acute that President Obama has created a federal task force to tackle obesity. Oliver, of course, has the recipe.
