The cycle rickshaw has had a change of luck, thanks to the Commonwealth Games. The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) is collaborating with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) to design 50 cycle rickshaws that will ply the sprawling 63.5 hectare Commonwealth Games village. Victoria on Wheels comes with gramophones and lampshades. According to Sunil Sethi, president of FDCI, the rickshaws will be donated to rickshaw pullers after the Games.
