He is a left-handed opening batsman, bowls left-arm medium pace, trains with the Indian cricket team, and his favourite cricketer is Chris Gayle. That’s Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar. Last week, on the exact date that his father made his international debut 22 years ago, Arjun turned in a match-winning performance at a Harris Shield match in Mumbai. The 12-year-old, playing for Dhirubhai Ambani School, crushed Jamnabai Narsee School with some canny swing bowling, with figures of 12-0-22-8. But he failed to fire with the bat and was dismissed on the third ball of the run chase. But that did not stop his team from winning the match by 5 wickets. This is the same tournament in which Vinod Kambli and his father had put up their famous 664 run partnership.
